Dhuandhar Falls, Madhya Pradesh

Dhuandhar falls located in Bhedaghat, Jabalpur is the most visited tourist destination in the whole of Madhya Pradesh. The word Dhuan means Smoke and Dhar means a stream or a flow in Hindi, hence the name Dhuandhar. This waterfall is known for its height which is 30 meters as it creates a mist due to the force of the waterfall, and one can see a rainbow during a sunny day with the help of the mist. This attraction site also known for its heavy mist created due to the Dhuandhar waterfall. It is a marble rocks waterfall, which is also famous for its soft characteristics. The marbles present there are so soft that you can create your own thumb impression on the rock and create souvenirs out of it. Recreational waterfall portraits are also sold at Dhuandhar along with other souvenirs like key chains, fridge magnet and more.

This tourist site is most crowded during the Narmada Mahotsav where people from across the country visit the Jabalpur district to celebrate the festival grandly beside the Dhuandhar, under the full moonlight. The light illuminated by the moon makes the marble rocks and the stream shine bright even at night. Cable car services are also offered to reach the opposite side of the waterfalls; you can also enjoy the view of the Dhuandhar falls from the above. Boating rides are also offered near the stream, which will showcase the beauty between the marble rocks, including the cave where Guru's used to meditate for years and the area call "Bandar Kud" (Area from which Monkeys used to jump to reach the other side of the stream).
