Kakoijana Reserved Forest & Wildlife Sanctuary, Assam

Kakoijana Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Assam, a North East state of India. The state of Assam is known for its dense forests with varied species of flora and fauna, archaeological sites and beautiful landscape. Kakoijana Wildlife Sanctuary is home to the endangered species of Golden Langur.

The Golden Langur is listed in the category of ‘rare species’ in the Red Data Book of International Union for Conservation of Nature. It is also home to other rare and endangered species. Binturong, Jungle Fowl, Pangolin are some of the other rare species in the Kakoijana Wildlife Sanctuary. Other wildlife species found in the Kakoijana Wildlife Sanctuary are Porcupine, Leopard, Hornbill, Python, Stork, Lesser Adjutant, Monitor Lizard, Flying Squirrel, Civets, Barking Deer, Jungle Cat, Mongoose, Wild Cat and many more.

The other added attraction in the Kakoijana Wildlife Sanctuary is Kalikapat. It is a spring on the hill which flows through the dense forest and reach the plains. Kakoijana Wildlife Sanctuary is a must visit place for any traveller touring Assam.
