Kangra Fort, Himachal Pradesh

Kangra Fort or Kangra Valley Fort is a historical landmark in the Himalayan Indian State of Himachal Pradesh. But what makes it so radical and regal? Being one of the oldest civilizations in the world, the Indian civilization has given history a lot of kings and leaders to write for, not only to inspire the future but more importantly, create it. The fort was built in the years of fourth century into the Common Era by one the greatest mountain dynasties of the India, the Katoch Empire.

The timeline itself suggest that this fortress is one of the ancient structures conceived during the fag end of the golden era of the ancient India, just before the inset of the dark ages. The massive walls, the sturdy build and the panoramic surrounding landscape of the Kangra fort makes it more historic and more aesthetic by each passing moments. The natural protect of the gorge, the hilly layout, the walling mountains and the fast flowing river made this fort impregnable. The arches, the passage ways, the ruins of the castle, the watch tower and the temple inside are the notable watches inside the fort. But what is most mesmerizing is the breathtaking vista of the Kangra Valley, the mountain railway track, the winding gorge and the scintillating sunsets. There are many accommodation and dining options here and a convenient conveyance schedule. Kangra fort is an easy drive from both Kangra and Dharamshala.

25 INR (Cash) or 20 INR (e-ticket) per Indian visitors and 300 INR (Cash) or 250 INR (e-ticket) per Foreign visitors. (Children below 15 years of age allow free entry)
