Durgam Cheruvu Lake, Telangana
The Durgam Cheruvu Lake is believed to be 2500-million-year-old and popularly known as the Secret Lake. Located close to the Hi-tech city of Hyderabad, this lake covers an area of almost sixty-three acres. This lake was originally built by the Shahi kings so that this lake can be a source of water supply to the residents of Golconda fort. A recent addition to this lake is a beautiful artificial waterfall that has increased the beauty of this place. People come here to enjoy the solitude and peaceful ambience. Earlier this lake was a source of drinking water.
You can come here along with your friends and try out the fun filled activities. You can either try your luck in fishing or you can opt for trekking. You can also take a boat ride along the Durgam Cheruvul lake along with your loved ones. You can choose from the various boating options starting from motorized boat to peddled boat to water scooters. Watch the breath-taking sunset from the boat and indulge yourself in the serenity of the place. One of the popular water rides is known as the “The ride in the putty” which costs INR 20 per head is worth a try. To quench your hunger, there are a number of food stalls locations along the banks of the lake. The Durgam Cheruvul Lake also has its own restaurant.
This place is known for its charming beauty. You can visit the Durgam Cheruvu lake on any day of the week. Commute is very feasible to this place. The best option to reach here is by cab. However, one can also take a bus till the Hi tech city from where you can take an auto.
