Harishchandragad Fort is a hill Fort situated at Ahmednagar in Maharashtra has many interesting stories and many mystic facts to explore. It is at a distance of around 90 km from Kalyan and situated in the Malshej region of the Western Ghats.

Harishchandragad Fort is very famous among trekkers and climbers as it has the most challenging trek which makes is very difficult to reach the top. The most famous route among the campers and trekkers is via Nalichi Vaat which means ‘passage through a gorge’ and lies to the extreme right of this mountain. This route involves a steep climbing starting from a stream bed filled with huge rocks and leads to the base of the gorge, so it will be wise to carry climbing gear. This adventurous trek to Harishchandragad Fort is a two day trek as the uphill climbing is too much exhausting and it will take a full day for you to reach the top and there will be no daylight left even if you start early at dawn, so you will have to camp here at night in tents or in ancient caves situated all over the Fort.

The most famous attraction of the Harishchandragad Fort is Konkan cliff also known as Konkan-Kada where you can enjoy a panoramic view of beautiful surrounding hills and you can enjoy a wonderful sunset. The other tourist's attractions on this place include Taramati peak which is third largest in Maharashtra and promises one of the best sunrises, the other is a temple of Harishchandreshwar and the cave of Kedareshwar which has a Shivling surrounded by four pillars.
