Khonoma Village, situated about 20 kms from the Nagaland Capital of Kohima and boasts of being Asia's first Green Village and it truly stands by its tag. The villagers have made all efforts to make it a truly green village with organic and revival farming, afforestation, ban on hunting and rich in Cultures. The village is one of the cleanest village and a very well planned, well-marked village. The locals have made ample arrangements for boarding and lodging for tourists. The central fort of Khonoma is a nice place to visit. Small village but worth a stay.
Khonoma is a beautiful town perched on top of a hill that makes for a beautiful scene. The Khonoma village, focused on eco-friendly, community-based tourism, which is great! Because of this, they have a significant amount of wildlife around the area, including birds and butterflies. This is a place really untouched and pristine. It is considered to be some 800 years old settlement where the Angami tribes lives.
