Panimur Falls is located in the Dima Hasao district (formally North Cachar Hill District) of Assam, a state in North East India. Assam is known for its popular pilgrimage sites, rocky hilly regions, forests with wide variety of wildlife, mighty rivers, waterfalls, breath-taking terrain and tea vegetation. Panimur Falls is one such place which attracts not only local tourists but also people from all over the country.
Panimur is formed from the Kopili River. It is situated 120 kms away from Haflong, the only hill station in the state of Assam. Obstructed by huge stones, the water of the Kopili River gushes out with great force forming the ethereal beauty of the Panimur Falls. The panoramic view of the surroundings has made it a popular picnic spot. A Forest Inspection Bungalow has been built there to accommodate few tourists. The best to time to visit in Panimur waterfall is during the autumn or in the winter and spring. As in the summer the place becomes quite hot and the water dries down to an extent. The river can be devastating during the monsoon. So it is best to visit the place during autumn and winter or spring as the weather is also soothing and comfortable. The nearest railway station is at Lamding, from where one has to travel by road to reach Panimur waterfall.
Panimur Falls can be visit during 06:00 AM to 05:00 PM
