Qutb Shahi tombs are the tombs and mosques present in the Golkonda Fort. This fort is located in Hyderabad, Telangana, a state in India and is considered as the most famous tourist destination site in Hyderabad. This fort, along with the tomb and the mosques were built to honour the Kings of the Qutb Shahi Dynasty who were ruling the regions of Telangana. This tomb included chandelier, carpets and silver pole across the crypt of the king and each king had a different design for their tombs. It was built according to the designation of the royal family member. This fort was built in the 16th and 17th century and the Tomb of Hyayath Bakshi Begum is still present within the vicinity of the fort.
Over the years, the dome of the tombs and mosques got ruined during the war and due to the lack of preservation. The blue and green tile of the dome can still be seen at some part of the dome. The state government of Telangana - Telangana State Archaeology and Museums Department and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture together restored most of the tombs and mosques present in the fort. The restoration process started around 2013 and ended in the year 2019. Therefore, tourists are now able to completely enjoy their tour in the Golkonda fort where they are able to witness the Qutb Dynasty architecture with the tombs and mosques present in the fort apart from the ruins of the Golkonda fort.
