The temple is dedicated to Goddess Tara, the second of the ten Mahavidyas and also known by as the Great Wisdom Goddesses. It’s located at a distance of 11 km from the Shimla Bus stand and can be easily accessible via road transportation.

The Tara Devi temple is located at the top of the hill giving a mesmerizing view to worshippers and visitors alike. The Tara Devi temple dates back to an ancient time with almost 250 years of heritage behind it. It is said that a King from the Sen Dynasty, had a vision of the goddess and he then led the building of the temple in tribute. It had a wooden idol representing the goddess Tara Devi. The idol was later on built by the use of Ashtadhatu, also known by as the rare combination of the eight elements giving it a splendor view. And with the Himalayas and greenery on offer, Tara Devi temple is a perfect place for diving into the serene and tranquil peace.
