Tipu Sultan Mosque Kolkata, West Bengal

The Tipu Sultan Mosque is located on one of the busiest streets of Kolkata, i.e. the Dharmatala Street. History states that these mosques were built by Prince Golam Mohammed in the year 1832. He was the grandson of Tipu Sultan. These historical creations have been keen observer of the changes the city has faced for all these years. Due to lack of funds, it became impossible to retain the beauty of this cultural heritage. Lucky that for the last few years, these mosques are getting some funds from the nearby clubs.

Commutation is extremely flexible to reach both of these places. The easiest and fastest way to reach is via metro. If you are planning to visit the mosque situated at Esplanede, then you have to get off at Esplanede station and from there it’s a 2 mins walk down the lane. And if you are planning to visit the one near Tollygunge, then you have to get off at Rabindra Sarovar metro station and come out from Gate Nos 6. From there, you can either take an auto or walk which would take approximately 5-10 mins.
