Ungma Village, Nagaland

Ungma is the largest village of Ao tribes and second largest village in Nagaland is about 4 Kms from Mokokchung City. Being the centre of Ao community, it is a rich culture and tradition is jealously guarded and practiced by the villagers even today and the place is considered to be a living museum of the traditions of the tribe.

Ao's are the Baptist community and the first of the Naga people who embraced Christianity on its arrival to India by the Britishers during the 9th century AD.
