Butterfly Beach, Goa

Butterfly beach is an isolated beach located in the south of Palolem in Cancona region, in Goa, India. The name of this beach was given as Butterfly Beach because of the variety of species of butterflies occupying the beach and the forest surrounding the beach. There are no roads, passageways, infrastructure or any sort of man-made structures at this beach, even if a person wants to visit this beach, he or she has to trek for 20 - 30 minutes to reach this beach. The Butterfly beach is known for being the most natural and photogenic beach in Goa.

With yellowish brown sand and light blue water, the beach's beauty is enhanced with the rocks and the trees surrounding the beach. One will be able to enjoy the sound of the beach waves and the soft sand without the disturbance of the city noise at this beach, creating an incomparable atmosphere. This beach is also known as the hidden land as it is not a common tourist attraction site and not many people known about this beach, hence you will find limited people enjoying the nature at this beach. You will have a chance to explore the aquatic life in this beach as the shape of this beach is semi-circle and one can view the aquatic life from the top of one of the rocks located at the beach. Hiking through the forest to reach the Butterfly beach and then enjoying boat ride or canoeing through the waves is the perfect adventure for someone who wants to enjoy nature at the same time.
