South Goa Tourism

Goa, a small state, located in the western coast of India is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India with its beautiful beaches with far stretched palm and coconut trees along it, pleasant village scenes and rich history. It is divided into two districts – North and South Goa. Unlike the Northern regions, South Goa is mostly preferred by the visitors seeking peace and solitude. It is just 57 kms from the Dabolim International Airport and is well accessible through roads. You can hire cars and bikes to travel around.

The Southern district of Goa can be mainly associated with serene yet charming beauty of the beaches. Lip smacking sea foods and local cuisine at the beach shacks, clean blue water, dolphin sighting, luxurious beach resorts, various water sports and scuba diving are some of the major attractions of South Goa beaches. Colva, Palolem, Agonda, Polem are some of most visited beaches in South Goa. Some beaches even offer the visitors to spend their time in tranquillity in calm ambience. There are also places for the party-mongers where they can experience the Full Moon party on the beach and many more. The museums, churches and other century-old Portuguese monuments and buildings depict the rich historical significance of being a Portuguese colony. Although Goa is not so known for shopping areas, one can find stores and stalls of beach style dresses and souvenirs.
