Devbagh Beach, Maharashtra
Devbagh Beach is situated in same name village in the Malvan tehsil in the Sindhudurg district of the state of Maharashtra. Basically, it is a peninsula with Karli River on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other. It is the southernmost tip of the Malvan tehsil. The place is rarely explored thus keeping the smitten beauty of the nature uninterrupted. Visitors seeking for holidaying in a peaceful and solitary destination can visit this place. The locals are mainly fishermen. An array of fishing boats is lined at the Devbagh beach. In early mornings and in the evenings, the men are seen returning from their fishing venture with the catch of the day.
The view of the place is far more enchanting from the top of the bridge built to cross the river. A lot of adventure activities are available at Devbagh Beach. Snorkeling, parasailing, kayaking, banana boat ride, speed boat ride, water bike ride are some of the activities that are organised at the beach. One of the popular activities is the early morning boat ride deep in the sea which is highly recommended. It is a three hours tour to the backwater and to the sea. One may also avail the trip to the dolphin point for spotting this fascinating marine creature. Sea gulls, an aquatic bird are often sighted at this place. There are many resorts close to the Devbagh beach which provide comfortable accommodation. Mouth smacking sea foods are also found in the restaurants of these resorts. The place is accessible by the Malvan – Tarkali Road. It is preferred to visit the place with one’s own vehicle as there is no well-developed transport system.
