The temples are omnipresent in the Indian sub-continent. Whether you are trekking though the snowy mountains or losing your way in a sandstorm, you will most definitely find a temple there. There is one such adventurous temple in Gujarat and it is called the Kalika Mata Temple. It is one of the 52 Shakti Peethas in India. Many visitors come here to either enjoy the natural exuberance of this place or to devote themselves to the goddess in reverence. The Kalika Mata Temple is actually a grand pilgrimage center atop a mountain. The temple is a part of the Pavagadh Champaner Archeological Park sanctuary. The Pavagadh range is in the Panchmahal district in Gujarat.

According to the legends, a part of Lady Sati fell here after Lord Shiva’s cataclysmic dance and this black relic of the goddess self-appeared here. Another mythological tale tells that a certain king discarded a divine dream and faced with the wrath of Kalika Mata goddess. This tale is the chanting story for the tribal cult here. The tourism attraction of this archeological park is very grand. The water scanty small streams, flowing through a dense arid vegetation with a towering stone hill makes this land a scenic heritage.
