The Kempty Fall in Tehri, Uttarakhand is some 13 kms from Mussoorie and is one of the most breathtaking waterfalls one can ever find in this country. The Kempty Fall is a great attraction for anyone who likes to relax and have an adventurous spirit, alike. During the summer, anyone will be surprised by the huge number of people who like to throw parties and picnics by the Kempty Fall owing to its scenic beauty and cool shades. There are various water sport activities nearby in the park. There is also a cable car ride which one can avail from the small hill top which will give you an overview of the whole waterfall and also a glimpse of the small town nearby.
It is said that the place was inaugurated in 1830s by a British officer for throwing tea parties for his high ranking friends and dignitaries. The place is also a favourite among the trekkers as one could hike up the mountain and enjoy the top view of the Kempty fall. People could also have good time just swimming in the water hole or just sit in the shore and enjoy a small meal. The adventurous ones usually love to dive in from the rocks above and enjoy the splash.
The best time to visit the Kempty Fall is during summer and winter months. The Monsoon time should be avoided as landslides might occur any time and the hills might be a bit slippery which gives rise to accidents. Hence, the month of March-May and November-February is the ideal time to visit the place.
