Paradise Beach is located in Shiroda, a small village in the Sindhudurg district of the state of Maharashtra. It is also referred to as Shiroda Velaghar Beach by some. It is a perfect example of untouched and unexplored beach. It is recommended for people looking for offbeat destinations for holidaying with family or gang of friends in a peaceful environment. The place is far from the noisy crowds like in popular beaches. The silvery sand and the tranquil atmosphere soothe the eyes of a person visiting this place.
One side of the sea shore is occupied with array of green trees like coconut and palm. Sight of such greenery rejuvenates the mind of the onlooker. Apart from the attractive scenic beauty, the place also has much historical significance. A number of interesting place close to the Paradise beach are worth of visiting. A small village known as Pansal, located near the beach has great historical significance in India’s struggle for Independence. Mahatma Gandhi started his ‘Salt Satyagraha’ in 1930 from this village.
The Paradise beach also holds significant part in this event. There are some similar beaches lies in close proximity which can also be toured by the people travelling towards Vengurla in the Malvan tehsil. Mochemad beach and Sagareshwara beach are such beaches which are equally beautiful. The food available at this place is mainly inspired by various Konkan dishes including rice and fish. Other varieties of sea food and dishes made of chicken are also found in the nearby restaurants. Paradise Beach is 11 kms from Vengurla and can be reached from the nearby railway station, that is, Sawatwadi by government run transport buses.
