Shri Siddhivinayak Temple, Maharashtra

The Shri Siddhivinayak Temple is a shrine dedicated to Lord Ganesha located in the heart of the Mumbai City. It is believed that Lord Ganesha grants wishes of all and bestows prosperity and good health to them. According to mythical legends, Lord Ganesha is the first to be prayed during any Hindu religious rituals. For any auspicious beginning, the god of auspiciousness is to be worshipped.

The location of the temple is in Prabhadevi and was built by Deubai Patil and Laxman Vithu in the year 1801 AD. At first it was built as a meagre abode for Lord Ganesha but in course of time it basked in glory and became the richest temple in India. The temple complex is a well covered campus with a spire that resembles the Hawa Mahal style of Rajasthan architecture. The main mandap is small and is in the place of its inception. The inner sanctum plated with gold and the idol of Lord Ganesha resides within it. The wooden door of the temple is sculptured with Ashtavinayak manifestations of Lord Ganesha. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman inside the campus.

The Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple is a much visited temple in Mumbai. It is also a high profile temple for many Bollywood actors come to pray and get blessings for a productive endeavour. This temple is a must see tourist spot in Mumbai for visitors and it is also an easy reach.
