Sripuram Golden Temple, Tamil Nadu
The Golden Temple is a Hindu temple complex located in the Sripuram spiritual park which is situated at the foothills of the thickly vegetated mountain range in the Thirumalaikodi village in Tamil Nadu, the southernmost state of India. There are a host of ways to access the temple premises from other parts of the country. Interested tourists or pilgrims can choose to come to Vellore, a very busy junction and an important landmark city in Tamil Nadu. The Sripuram Golden Temple is roughly 8 km from Vellore. For those embarking on a temple tour of the South Indian states, they can continue to the Sripuram Golden Temple from famous and celebrated Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh from where it is located at a stretch of distance of 120 km. Alternately transport to the Sripuram Golden Temple is well connected from the capital city Chennai from where it is roughly at a distance of 145 km.
Tourists can also enter the temple complex via other busy Indian metropolises in the Southern part of the country like Pondicherry and Bangalore from where it is 125 and 160 km apart respectively. The temple and its facilities house the shrine of Hindu Goddess of Wealth Lakshmi and her consort Narayan in separate sanctums. As the name suggests, the striking feature of this temple is its golden dome made from pure gold which makes it visible even from a far away distance reflecting the beams of the sun to dazzling blindness. The temple itself is gilded or plated around the original construction walls with 1500 kg of gold all round its perimeter which makes it double the amount of gold used in the Golden temple Amritsar which is a place of worship for the believers of the Sikh religion. This is one of the main tourist attractions in Tamil Nadu.

Note
The trousers, shorts, jeans are not allowed in the temple. Males devotees can wear dhotis, kurta, pajama, ethnic wear and females preferably wear salwar suits and sari.
