Punjab Tourism

Punjab is the land of five rivers and is one of the most historic states in the country of India. The rivers named Ravi, Chenab, Sutlej, Beas and Jhelum drains the state of Punjab making it one of the most agriculturally successful one in the whole of India. The state of Punjab is located in the north western part of the country border Pakistan in the west, Jammu & Kashmir in the north, Himachal Pradesh in the east and Rajasthan in the south. The capital of Punjab is the union territory of Chandigarh. Apart from this there are many important and beautiful places for visit in the state of Punjab.

The tourists and the travelers from all over the country come to visit this ancient state for experiencing the high frequency Sikh culture, their lifestyle and their high octane mouthful diets. The main places for visitation in the state of Punjab are without a doubt, the cities of Patiala and Amritsar. There is the famous Wagha Border on the India Pakistan demarcation line and then comes the famous Sikh sanctorum of the Golden Temple. The Jallianwalabagh is also a famous tourist spot. In order to reach Punjab one has to travel by rail, road or air transports.
