Kalimpong Tourism

Kalimpong is a favourite hill station amongst the tourists and travellers. It is placed in the state of West Bengal. Kalimpong is placed at an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level. Once upon a time it served as a busy hub for business between India and Tibet. It is easily commutable from the nearest airport, Bagdogra. Numerous flights connect the town to the major metros of the country. Connection via railway and roadway is also smooth. The top tourist attractions are Kalimpong Arts & Craft Centre especially for handicraft items, the Tharpa Choling Monastery famous for its collection of documents and old scriptures, Thongsa Monastery which is known to be the most ancient monastery in the area, a famous Nepalese Buddist Temple called Dharmodaya Vihar, Mangal Dham & Parnami Mandir, Tiger Hill and Kalimpong flower nurseries.

Durpin Danda is well celebrated among the tourists for the mesmerising view of Jelepla mountain range in Sikkim. The confluence of the rivers Tista and Riang can also be witnessed from the Durpin Danda. Additionally, the place is ideal for trekking and hiking activities. Tourists can discover the villages through numerous village walks. Adventure sports like water rafting is also popular in the area.
