Tamenglong Tourism

Tamenglong is a district in the state of Manipur in north–east of India. The district headquarters is in the Tamenglong town. There are many rivers flowing through this district. It is also well-known for its bio–diversity with dense forest having different species of flora and fauna. Barak Waterfall is a beautiful place to visit with rafting opportunities for the one interested. The majestic view of mountainous cliff of KishaKhou makes is a popular tourist destination. It also offers trekking routes for the adventure lovers.

The breathtaking view of the green mountains and the lake at the Zeiladzang village is a sight to behold. The Tharon cave is another tourist attraction in the Tamenglong district. The mystical cave is home to the millions of fruit bats. There are many halls like the Lous hall, Dancing Hall and Meeting Hall. 12 such caves are found in this location. 15 kms away from the Tamenglong headquarters is the beautiful meadows of Buning. The picturesque grassland and the serene beauty of the surrounding attract travellers to visit this place. Tamenglong is not well connected even by roads. The roads are not in good condition and about 46% villages in this district do not have all weather motor able roads.
