Sri Lanka Tourism

The beautiful island country of Sri Lanka is located in the Southern part of the Asian continent, positioned just towards the south coast of India. The beautiful beaches combined with the picturesque landscape throughout the country are a spectacle worth visiting almost throughout the entire year. Sri Lanka being a tropical country, predominantly experiences hot and sultry weather conditions but with the greenery all around the island country one can expect rains any and every time of the year. Though there are varied tourist attractions spread throughout Sri Lanka, one must not miss out on visiting places like Kandy, Matalle and Dambulla at the Central province as the highlands there are filled with lovely landscapes, waterfalls and tea plantations.

The Wilpattu National Park, the biggest of the country and located towards the Western part is filled with wildlife and greens. The Southern part of Sri Lanka boasts of rich historical significance with numerous historical towns. The city of Galle being the most remarkable of them all is home to a colossal Dutch Fort, which is a major tourist attraction of these parts. Colombo, the commercial capital of the country is also beautifully decorated throughout with numerous Buddhist monasteries and beach resorts all along the coastline. Buddhism being the dominant religion of the country, the people of Sri Lanka are peace loving and amicable. So if one is planning a peaceful holiday, Sri Lanka is just the right place to be in.
