Lachen Tourism

Lachen is placed in the northern region of Sikkim. It is an eye catching tourist spot and attracts thousands of tourists all round the year. It has gained popularity as being a Buddhist pilgrimage. Additionally, its natural beauty and breathtaking landscape is worth paying a visit. The Lachung Monastery is a massive attraction of the place. It is famous for being a gateway to the celebrated Tso Lhamu Lake and Gurudongmar Lake. The serenity of the lakes along with it sacredness are a massive tourist attractor. The Nyingma order of Himalayan Buddhism and the areas widely covered with Alpine are well visited by thousands of tourists. The vegetation of the area mainly comprises shrubs and grasslands. The apple orchards are very famous tourist’s destinations.

The valleys covered vividly with pine trees, with the snow covered peaks of the Eastern Himalayan Range in the backdrop, is enough to create a picture perfect landscape. Lachen acts as the starting point for many trekkers. Various trekking routes are designed with Lachen as the base. The Kanchenjunga National Park and the Green Lake treks are the most famous ones. Other tourist’s attractions of Lachen are Chopta Valley, Cho Lamu, Shinghba Rhododendron Sanctuary and Gurudongmar Lake.
