Morena Tourism

Morena is located in Madhya Pradesh. It is situated near Gwalior. Morena comes under Chambal division and it is popular as it was once the abode of dacoits. Morena is the industrial hub which has a lot of manufacturing units. The economy is largely dependent on agriculture here as the plains are fertile.

National Chambal Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary. It is famous for small crocodiles known as gharials and Ganges river dolphins. Chambal River which passes through Morena is an eco-reserve. The place has famous Pahargarh cave paintings that are more than 30,000 years old. They are made on rocks of the Ashan River. Sabalgarh Fort is a place of a prime tourist location. This fort palace was built in a medieval age on a high cliff. The Khajuraho style temple is a holy place called Sihoniya. It is a Jain temple where the statues of the Tirthankars are placed. The kotwal reservoir is a must visit place for bird lovers. Many migratory species of birds are found here. Enjoy boating at this river and recreation with fishing. Also, a Shani dev temple is a pious location. Many devotees visit the temple which houses the black idol of Shani dev.
