Among the famous tourism destinations in Himachal Pradesh Chamba features as one of the idyllic must places in the tour chart. The harmonizing blend of a bustling township amidst the serenity of the mountains makes Chamba a popular sightseeing & nighh staying spot enroute to Shimla from Amritsar. Chamba is located at the heart of the Chamba Region on the banks of the Ravi River. The place is quite historic since it traces its root back to the second century BC. It was under the rule of the rajas before British domination and over the years this town has transformed into a lively hill retreat.

There are many things to see and enjoy in Chamba. There are many temples in the town like the shikhara styled Laxminarayana Temple, the Chamunda Devi Temple on the opposite bank of Ravi and the enchanted Sui Mata Devi Temple. The Bhuri Singh Museum, the Chaugan and the Akhand Chandi Palace are other notable spots. The famous sightseeing locales around Chamba are the Dalhousie Hill Station, the Khajjiar Plains, the ancient Bhramaur Town and the exotic Pangi Valley. These aside the town itself is full of life & amenities and arranges for various festivities. The town is quite accessible too.
