Ujjain is a city in the state of Madhya Pradesh and a Hindu pilgrimage center. A Kumbh Mela is held in this sacred city every 12 years. The cultural heritage of this city is unmistakably charming. It has about 84 Shiva temples, the largest in a single city. Visiting Kaliadeh Palace is an important site as its architecture is marvelous. The central dome of the palace has beautiful Persian inscriptions. Visit other places of interest like Mangalnath temple, Sandipani Ashram, Bhartirihari caves, ISKCON temple, and Harsiddhi Mata temple. The period of Shravan is considered the most auspicious time for visiting this traditional city. Bathing in the Shipra River is the most magnificent ritual when visiting this holy place.
