Jodhpur, founded in 1495 by RaoJodha in Rajasthan, is also known as the Sun City due to the clear view of sunrise. Jodhpur is also known as the ‘Blue City' as the exteriors of the buildings present in the city are blue in colour. This city is situated in the centre of the state alongside Thar Dessert. This city is known for its rich history and culture as most of the Palace, Forts and Temples are situated in this city. Travel and Tourism have been the main source of income in this city. Multiple national and international movies were shot in forts and Palace in Jodhpur; like Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jaswant Thada, Ghanta Ghar, Mandaleshwar Mahadev Temple, Veer Durgadas Smarak and other attractions were featured in the movies.

People from different countries traveled to this city for its traditional food, clothes, shoes and antique artefacts which belonged to the Kings and Queens of Jodhpur. World Sacred Spirit Festival and Camel Festival are one of the few fairs and festivals which are conducted once a year in the city. Jodhpur is famous for its history as it is connected with Mahabharat; before Rathore clan took over Marwar, it is said that Marwar was inhabited by Ahirs in the past.
