Mandi Tourism

Mandi, formerly known as Mahadev Nagar and Sahor, is a town located in the Mandi District, Himachal Pradesh (a state in India). Since the district is located in the north-west side of the Himalayas, the district and the town is known for its good weather. Pleasant weather can be witnessed during the summers and extreme cold weather is seen in the winters. It is also one of the famous hill stations located in Himachal Pradesh after Shimla. It is also a famous rest stop for bikers who are travelling towards Leh-Ladak during their road trip.

Mandi is known for conducting various adventure camp sports with one of the most famous sport being trekking. Mandi is the starting point for trekking in Himachal Pradesh as it is also beginners friendly. People, who want to experience trekking, or love trekking, visit this place. One of the most famous trekking routes leads to Prakash Lake which is the most famous destination in the Mandi District. Mandi is the first heritage town in Himachal Pradesh where Mandi Shivratri Fair is held every year where thousands of people visit the town during the Shivratri season. One of the oldest buildings in Himachal Pradesh is also located in the Mandi District.
