Jaipur Tourism

Jaipur is the largest city and capital of Rajasthan, a state in India. It is one of the popular tourist destinations in India, and along with Delhi and Agra, Jaipur makes the Golden Triangle of the western Indian tourist destination. It is also known as 'Pink City' due to the color of the building, which is very vibrant and dominant. In 2011, Jaipur became the tenth most populous city in India with 3.1 million populations in the city. It is also considered as a transfer tourist destination as Jaipur connects Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Mount Abu, Udaipur and Kota. Under UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Jaipur has two heritage sites: Jantar Mantar and the Amer Fort.

Rajasthan is known for its hot climate and deserts and is covered with sand dunes across the city. Camel festivals are organized throughout the year in Jaipur and other places in Rajasthan, where people enjoy camel riding, bonfire and food & drinks made with Camel milk. This festival is famous because of its location where it is conducted and the festival ends during a full moon night in a dessert. Jaipur is ranked as the 7th best tourist destination to visit in India according to the Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Survey in 2008. In 2015, Trip Advisor conducted a Travelers Choice Awards for Destination in which Jaipur ranked 1st amongst the destinations in India.
