Dehradun Tourism

Dehradun is a special place in the Uttarakhand surrounded by natural landscapes. Situated inside the Doon Valley, which is at the foot of the Himalayas, we find the Ganga and Yamuna flowing through its east and west respectively. It is a major hub as it provides a passageway through which one can enter the region. Not only is it well connected to famous places like Mussoorie, Haridwar and Rishikesh, it is also located just 236 kilometres from New Delhi and 168 kilometres from Chandigarh making it a perfect weekend getaway destination.

The city itself is a perfect tourist spot as various temples, parks and canals are situated all around the city. Some of the famous locations are the Robbers cave, Saharashtradhara, Malsi Deer Park, Dak Pathar, etc. Dehradun is an important educational hub of the region and many prestigious institutions like the Doon School, Forest Research Institute, and the Indian Military Academy can be found here. Important government organizations such as the ONGC and Survey of India also have their offices located here. The city has a number of malls to satiate one’s shopping addiction. The calm atmosphere and harmony among the locals here make it a perfect spot to relax and relieve oneself. As the weather in the city is beautiful throughout the year, even walking or cycling across its streets makes it a memorable experience.
